Job Summary
Superintendent overseeing healthcare construction projects in NYC, responsible for field coordination, supervision of subcontracted crews, safety compliance, and reporting. Manages project schedules, progress reviews with Project Manager and clients, analyzes manpower and equipment needs, enforces field policies, and prepares forecasts. Requires 7+ years of healthcare project field experience and supervisory experience as a General Foreman, Field Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent. Strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills are essential. Location is New York City, NY; full-time role with salary range $120,000–$200,000 and eligibility for discretionary bonus.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of field experience in healthcare projects
- Experience with supervisory responsibilities as General Foreman, Field Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to prepare project schedules and maintain reports describing project status
- Ability to coordinate field activities, ensure safety standards, and supervise subcontracted work forces
- Experience reviewing status with Project Manager and client representatives
- Ability to analyze manpower, material, and equipment requirements and interface with supervising superintendent
- Ability to enforce policies, procedures, and work rules set by field construction management
- Ability to prepare reports and forecasts and keep supervisors informed of progress
- Commitment to safety and safe operation of tools and equipment
- Experience with large healthcare projects and coordination among multiple superintendents
- Knowledge of cost-effective field coordination and quality control
- Experience with safety standards implementation and field supervision
- Ability to manage multiple disciplines and stakeholders in a healthcare construction environment
