Job Summary
Live-in Building Superintendent responsible for maintenance of a 24/7 building in the Bronx. Manages routine and preventive maintenance across mechanical systems in the boiler room and electrical rooms, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, boilers, and related equipment; ensures apartments are ready for occupancy; responds to emergencies 24/7; coordinates with residents, contractors, security, and property management; ensures make-ready repairs are completed on schedule; maintains safety by staying current on codes and safety standards; keeps records of preventive maintenance, work orders, inventories, and purchases; manages stock and budgets and maintains internal control in line with policies and guidelines; requires a high school diploma, 5+ years of janitorial/maintenance experience, valid driver’s license, FDNY Certificates S12/S13, and ability to work independently within a team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years of janitorial/cleaning experience and building maintenance
- Driver’s License with clean driving record
- FDNY Certificate of Fitness S12 & S13
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to interpret operating procedures and company documents
