Job Summary
As a hands-on Superintendent, you will lead Field Operations from preconstruction through project closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. You’ll develop safety, phasing, and logistics plans, maintain master and look-ahead schedules, and coordinate subcontractors and owner-furnished equipment. You’ll conduct regular site inspections, enforce safety standards, resolve QA/QC issues, and build strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. You’ll assist in submitting change orders with proper documentation, lead field meetings (Foreman Meetings, Daily Huddles, Subcontractor Coordination Meetings), mentor Foremen, Assistant Superintendents, and Field Engineers, and participate in monthly profit reviews to support cost control and project profitability. The role requires extensive construction knowledge, leadership, budgeting, scheduling, safety, and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality multifamily projects.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in construction or engineering
- Thorough knowledge of construction including technology, equipment, methods, scheduling, safety, and quality
- Experience on multifamily construction projects highly preferred
- Field Leadership – ability to manage all on-site construction activities from start to closeout
- Strategic Planning and risk management to meet evolving project goals and mitigate safety, schedule, quality, and budget risks
- Relationship building with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to foster collaboration and trust
- Operational excellence in driving field productivity, efficiency, and quality
- Safety leadership and proactive safety culture on the jobsite
- Financial acumen with labor-cost management and scope compliance
- Team development – mentoring field staff including assistant superintendents and field engineers
- Decisive problem solving and accountability in high-pressure environments
