Job Summary
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing daily on-site construction activities, supervising trades and subcontractors, and ensuring project timelines are met. Key responsibilities include reading and producing construction schedules, maintaining inspection logs, ensuring compliance with building codes, coordinating material deliveries, and enforcing safety policies. The role requires demonstrated leadership capabilities, strong organization skills, problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of safety practices and construction methods.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent in residential, commercial, or industrial projects
- Ability to read and generate project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, and update them as the project progresses
- Strong leadership and trade management skills; capable of organizing crews and subcontractors on a daily basis
- Maintain quality control
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety practices
- In-depth knowledge of applicable building codes, OSHA regulations, and inspection processes
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with calling in inspections and tracking results through proper documentation
- Computer literate with working knowledge of email, Microsoft Office Suite, and Procore (or similar construction management software)
- Additional tech skills are a plus
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Solid organizational and time management abilities
