Job Summary
Lead the Production Engineering team at the Geismar site to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Drive process safety programs (PHAs, MOCs, PSSRs), provide technical guidance for PHA/SIL activities, and oversee RCA/TapRoot investigations. Set priorities to align with plant reliability and production goals; translate objectives into clear expectancies for the engineering team. Coach engineers in troubleshooting, process safety, and decision-making; mentor and develop staff; review engineering analyses and documentation for rigor and accuracy. Maintain process design basis including H&MBs, P&IDs, relief valve sizing, and equipment documentation; oversee real-time data analysis to optimize performance and manage operational risk. Promote innovation, data-driven improvements, and stay abreast of industry advancements. Coordinate shutdowns/turnarounds and brownfield expansions with project teams. Qualifications include a BSc in Chemical Engineering, 15+ years of industrial experience with 5+ years in Ammonia/Urea/Nitric Acid operations, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- BSc in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 15+ years of industrial experience, including 5+ years supporting Ammonia, Urea, or Nitric Acid operations
- Proven ability to lead teams, with at least 3+ years managing direct reports
- Strong proficiency with process modelling software
- Deep understanding of process safety, including PHAs, MOCs, PSSRs, and SIS fundamentals
