Job Summary
Oversee daily upkeep, schedule repairs, and maintain compliance with state childcare licensing, health codes, and safety laws across several locations. Perform urgent repairs on plumbing, minor electrical fixtures, hardware, and drywall while monitoring HVAC systems to ensure classroom temperatures. Supervise janitorial staff for rigorous sanitization and manage vendors for pest control, trash removal, and major repairs. Coordinate inventory for cleaning supplies and tools, assist leadership in forecasting annual maintenance costs, and handle winter snow removal responsibilities. Work a 40-hour week that includes evenings and weekends as required, with on-call availability for urgent needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in maintenance work, including electrical, or plumbing systems
- Basic knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to maintenance tasks
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work after 6pm and/or on weekends
- Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check
- Must pass child abuse registry clearance

- Ability to supervise at least one other employee/facilities person
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years in facilities management, preferably in childcare, school, or healthcare settings
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or playground safety certification (CPSI)
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems
