Job Summary
Oversee and coordinate daily construction activities in an active project setting to assure the seamless and successful execution of project objectives. Develop execution strategies, schedules, and detailed plans to safely and efficiently execute project field work to meet client, business, and project milestones. Provide technical support to on-site trade personnel, demonstrating proficiency in means & methods, site coordination, complex installations, logistics, and quality assurance. Determine whether installations conform to drawings and specifications, implementing corrective actions for non-conformities. Document daily field activities including photographs, manpower reports, delays, and safety observations to maintain accurate project records. Manage project execution, trade/vendor coordination, and schedule development while driving outcomes to support milestones. Perform daily review and authorization of Job Hazard Analysis forms, hot work permits, and inspections. Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction for permit issuance and facilitate progress meetings among trades and stakeholders. Utilize Business Technology platforms including Procore, MS Project, and MS Teams to maximize efficiency. Monitor performance, progress, and manpower issues, resolving as necessary. This full-time, FLSA exempt position requires at least 40 hours per week with the ability to travel to project sites in the SW Michigan region.
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of related construction management experience within heavy construction
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
- Knowledge of building codes (IBC, NEC, ASME, UMC, NFPA, etc.)
- Trade certifications and licenses
- Proven track record of solid safety implementation and successful safety performance record
- Completion of OSHA 30-hour training program
- Experience with projects valued at more than $25,000,000
- Minimum Training on Utilizing Equipment, such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, fork trucks, etc.
- Proficiency in contemporary technology platforms, or an ability and willingness to learn
- Ability to travel to a number of project sites located in the SW Michigan region
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per week if necessary
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is a plus, but not required assuming a combination of relevant education and experience that is commensurate with the duties/responsibilities outlined
- Knowledge of building codes (IBC, NEC, ASME, UMC, NFPA, etc.) is highly desirable
- Trade certifications and licenses are desirable
- Proven track record of solid safety implementation and successful safety performance record
- Completion of OSHA 30-hour training program is desirable
- Experience with projects valued at more than $25,000,000 is highly desirable
