Job Summary

Provide strategic technical and resource management for crane operation and yard rigging, ensuring compliance with OHHA, BIW Safety Procedures, and Test Procedures. Lead initiatives to enhance workplace safety, identify skill inadequacies through training and hiring, and manage transportation including SPMTs and ship moves. Monitor quality, quantity, and trade cost/schedule performance while overseeing Earned Value Management and material control. Provide technical guidance and oversight to assistant superintendents and employees, collaborate with trade management to resolve deckplate issues, and execute the Crane Operator/Yard Rigger Operations Improvement Plan. Maintain professional working environments and ensure fair labor contract implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, construction management, engineering or equivalent experience in related field
  • Minimum of (10) ten years extensive working knowledge in rigging and crane operating processes and/or applications in a manufacturing/shipbuilding environment
  • Minimum of (10) ten years of supervisory experience
  • A solid foundation in labor contract administration

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree
  • Experience with cranes, SPMTs, transporter unit moves and fall protection
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict and multiple priorities
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System
  • Experience in labor contract administration
