Job Summary
Oversee contractor operations for railway equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with operational standards, contractual requirements, and industry best practices. Review contractor policies, daily operational reports, and maintenance plans to document incidents and verify adherence to regulations. Coordinate with government agencies and internal departments while supervising vendors, inspections, preventive maintenance, and overhaul activities. Monitor Capital Asset Replacement Programs, assist with budget planning, and support system-wide maintenance improvements. Provide operational oversight to ensure safe, reliable rail transportation services and serve as backup for senior leadership. Manage maintenance activities across multiple rail systems as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Transportation, Industrial Management, Business Administration, or a related field (experience may substitute for education where applicable)
- Seven years of experience in light rail vehicle maintenance
- Progressive experience managing railway maintenance of equipment (MOE) programs
- Experience with contract management and contractor oversight
- Strong knowledge of railway maintenance operations and equipment
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
