Job Summary
Plan and direct KB staff and trade partners in constructing quality homes while managing milestone reports to ensure completion per schedule. Schedule and monitor trade partners for compliance with safety regulations, approve purchase orders, and maintain subdivision cleanliness. Collaborate with Architecture, Sales, and Purchasing to drive timely construction, resolve customer concerns, and conduct orientations with buyers. Facilitate weekly safety meetings, complete Quality Checkpoints, and provide daily status updates. Work with NHQ certified partners to drive permit and inspection sign-offs. This role requires full-time flexibility for overtime and an on-call program, with a valid driver's license and ability to travel within the designated region.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work full-time with flexibility for overtime and the On-Call program when needed
- Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to move about work location
- Ability to drive/travel as needed
- Ability to walk up and down stairs
- Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information so others will understand
- Ability to transport and move up to 20 lbs and move as needed
- Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions
- Conduct business professionally and ethically
Desired Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree
- Construction Management vocational degree or certificate
- Minimum one year as a Construction Manager or Superintendent in the homebuilding industry
- 2-5 years of construction experience with a production homebuilder
- Strong customer service, leadership, and people skills
- Action-oriented with a drive to push projects to successful closure
- Proven ability to be customer-centric by seeking solutions from the customer's perspective
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate them accurately and persuasively
- Ability to work within a team-setting, inclusive of others' ideas, and a willingness to cooperate
- Quick and accurate decision-making based on facts, data, and metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- 2-5 years of construction experience with a production homebuilder preferred
