Job Summary
The Superintendent will provide overall administrative and technical management at the construction project site, overseeing all on-site construction activities (self-perform labor, subcontractors, and consultants), administering the jobsite safety program, managing quality, and coordinating the project schedule. Responsibilities include implementing site-specific safety plans, ensuring subcontractor insurance/agreements are in place, serving as OSHA competent person, preplanning operations to mitigate hazards, supervising construction to align with plans and specifications, interpreting contract documents, assisting in budget development and cost control, tracking progress and changes, coordinating labor and materials for self-perform work, creating the Site-Specific Quality Plan (SSQP), and communicating with client representatives and other stakeholders. Key skills include strong communication, initiative, multitasking, teamwork, and a thorough knowledge of safety, CPM scheduling, cost reporting, and subcontract language. Requires a Bachelor's degree in construction management and at least 5 years of related experience; OSHA 10 is required and OSHA 30 is preferred. The role involves leadership of foremen and project engineers, participation in safety and quarterly meetings, and opportunities for business development on current and future projects.
