Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day work of all trade contractors across multiple scopes while resolving jurisdictional disputes and scope conflicts with decisiveness. Enforce safety culture by conducting weekly inspections, ensuring OSHA compliance, and leading toolbox talks to maintain a hazard-free site. Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop look-ahead schedules, manage project logistics, and proactively identify risks before they cause delays. Inspect work in place for compliance with design standards, document quality issues, and review submittals with architects and engineers. Prepare daily field reports, maintain organized on-site records, and communicate project status to leadership. Requires 10 years of direct experience, OSHA 30-Hour certification, and proficiency in Procore or similar PM software.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of direct experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial or general contracting projects
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-trade projects from groundbreaking through owner acceptance
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (current)
- Strong technical knowledge across all divisions of construction work — methods, materials, systems, and sequencing
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting full construction document sets including architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings and specifications
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage detailed project schedules and look-ahead planning tools
- Experience with project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and interpersonal — across all levels of the project team
- Proven problem-solving ability and composure under pressure; able to make sound field decisions quickly
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously
- BS or MS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field — OR equivalent combination of field experience and demonstrated results
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing projects in the $5M–$10M+ range across commercial, institutional, or industrial sectors
- Experience with design-build or design-assist project delivery methods
- Established subcontractor and trade partner relationships in the regional market
- Experience mentoring and developing Assistant Superintendents or junior field staff
