Job Summary
Civil Superintendent leading field execution of civil scopes with emphasis on concrete works, earthworks, and underground utilities. Responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, in compliance with contracts and job cost estimates, and executed safely with required quality. Key duties include bid review participation, review/interpretation of shop and IFC drawings and specifications, coordinating civil activities, monitoring concrete/soils testing, developing and managing detailed construction and look-ahead schedules, managing scope changes and subcontractors, coordinating with regulatory bodies, and fostering an inclusive, safety-focused project culture.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of on-site construction experience
- Leadership of crews on civil or industrial projects
- Experience in industrial construction environments with civil scopes (earthworks, underground utilities, concrete foundations)
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, rebar drawings, and construction specifications
- Knowledge of concrete and soils testing procedures and interpretation of test results
- Technical training through trade certification or post-secondary education in construction or civil engineering
- Proven leadership experience managing trade and/or non-trade teams in a construction environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple work fronts in a fast-paced setting
- Commitment to safety, quality, and inclusive workplace culture
- Experience interfacing with clients and coordinating with PMO, Quality, Design, Labour Relations, and Project Controls
