Job Summary
The Superintendent leads, directs, and coordinates the work of subcontractors and labourers, responsible for day-to-day management of the construction site on assigned projects. Key responsibilities include providing safety leadership, supervising site team members, administering contracts, monitoring subcontractor performance, and maintaining daily paperwork. The role requires demonstrated experience in General Contracting as a Superintendent, with a preference for candidates experienced in commercial and institutional construction, particularly P3 and Design Build projects, along with effective problem-solving skills and strong safety and management competence.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years' experience in a supervisory role
- Demonstrated, progressive experience in General Contracting as a Superintendent in commercial and institutional construction
- Ability to look after projects with $25 to 50M in value
- Effective supervision, coordination and scheduling of construction activities
- Demonstrated leadership, field management and problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge of construction and building techniques
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Project
Desired Qualifications
- P3 and Design Build experience
- Trade background in carpentry and/or Gold Seal Certification
