Job Summary
Superintendent responsible for safety leadership through Bird Safety Program, people leadership, supervision and development of site team, and ensuring safety, schedule, and quality objectives on commercial/institutional construction projects in Saskatchewan. Role involves administering contracts/subcontracts, coordinating with Project Manager to resolve issues, monitoring subcontractor performance, maintaining daily field documentation, and contributing to project scheduling and on-time delivery. Emphasis on leadership, collaboration with field staff and subcontractors, and adherence to safety and quality standards. We value experience in general contracting, design-build or P3 contexts, and consider Gold Seal Certification as an asset. The role requires strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated, progressive experience in General Contracting as a Superintendent in commercial and institutional construction
- direct field supervision of large institutional or commercial projects
- P3 and Design Build experience is a plus
- Trade background in carpentry and/or Gold Seal Certification considered an asset
- Effective supervision, coordination and scheduling of construction activities to ensure consistent completion of projects on-time, on budget and to the clients’ satisfaction
- Demonstrated leadership, field management and problem-solving skills
- Proactive problem-solver that can manage difficult situations with positive results
- Sound knowledge of construction and building techniques and ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Project
