Job Summary
The Superintendent will oversee subcontractors and employees in the construction of VDOT operation facilities, including various buildings such as the Ventilation Building and Traffic Operation Center. Key responsibilities include coordinating work between subcontractors, reviewing change orders, ensuring adherence to construction schedules, and inspecting ongoing work for quality. The role requires at least 10 years of similar experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office, along with strong report writing skills. Outdoor work is conducted in a heavy civil construction environment with varying conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 10 years experience in similar role
- Buildings construction experience
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to deal with problems involving several variables
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
