Job Summary
Lead the day-to-day management of the construction site by executing field operations safely and coordinating subcontractors and labourers. Provide safety leadership through the Bird Safety Program, monitor field staff performance, and supervise team members via regular feedback and coaching. Administer contracts, purchase orders, and change notices while identifying design deficiencies and collaborating with the Project Manager to resolve schedule interruptions. Monitor subcontractor performance regarding safety and scope, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain daily paperwork including field reports and safety inspections. Manage projects valued between $10-25M, requiring 5-10 years of supervisory experience and proficiency with MS Project.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated, progressive experience in General Contracting as a Superintendent in commercial and institutional construction
- Direct field supervision of large institutional or commercial projects
- P3 and Design Build experience
- Extensive interiors experience
- Ability to manage projects $10-25M in value
- 5-10 years in a supervisory role
- Effective supervision, coordination and scheduling of construction activities to ensure consistent completion of projects on-time, on budget and to the clients' satisfaction
- Demonstrated leadership, field management and problem-solving skills
- Service and results-oriented mindset
- Ability to build and steward trust with a broad network of professional colleagues, subcontractors and team members
- Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality and administration
- Proactive problem-solving ability
- Sound knowledge of construction and building techniques
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Project
Desired Qualifications
- Trade background in carpentry
- Gold Seal Certification
- Experience with the Bird Safety Program
