Job Summary
Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure working conditions comply with company, contract, and government standards. Supervise the timely and cost-effective installation of contracted work, including developing project schedules and organizing work sequences in accordance with documents. Control field costs, monitor productivity, and manage equipment while implementing corporate safety and quality control policies. Provide on-the-job training for Assistant Superintendents and Project Engineers, assist in resolving scope conflicts, and ensure punch lists are completed. This active, hands-on role requires navigating uneven terrain and lifting materials up to 50 pounds, with significant desk time for document review. You will work extended hours, especially during critical phases, and monitor communications for time-sensitive matters. Atkinson, a 1926-founded heavy civil contractor, delivers innovative design and construction solutions for complex infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience with a large-scale heavy civil contractor or equivalent industry experience
- In-depth knowledge of the construction process, including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and manpower
- Experience with a large-scale heavy civil contractor or equivalent industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- Demonstrated ability to lead field operations

- Comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds

- Comfortable in elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment
- Comfortable in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels
- Follow Atkinson Construction's safety policies and procedures, and all applicable laws, at all locations
