Job Summary
Manage technical operations for assigned vessels, ensuring operational availability, navigability, and regulatory compliance. Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, inspections, and dry-docking activities. Develop technical specifications, negotiate supplier quotes, and monitor execution against cost, schedule, and quality targets. Track planned maintenance systems, control technical expenditures including spares and consumables, and prepare annual maintenance budgets. Monitor fuel and lubricant consumption to improve energy efficiency and implement technical improvements for reliability and environmental performance. Conduct onboard inspections to assess vessel condition, identify anomalies, and support crew in resolving technical issues. Maintain communication with captains, classification societies, and suppliers while ensuring timely renewal of class and statutory certificates.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years experience as Technical Superintendent or equivalent
- Experience in ship management company or shipowner operating RO/RO vessels or other types on regular routes
- Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, naval architecture, or marine engineering
- Mechanic Chief Certificate and/or Superior Polyvalent Officers
- Mastery of French and English, written and oral
- Strong analytical, technical diagnostic, and problem-solving capabilities
- Sense of organization, autonomy, and ability to manage multiple dossiers simultaneously in a demanding environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in close collaboration with crews and various technical stakeholders
- Good mastery of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
- Availability to perform regular overseas trips and onboard visits
