Job Summary
The Youth Development Professional will be a positive role model to support, lead, and encourage young people. You will organize and facilitate recreational activities, oversee daily operations of recreation areas, enforce rules, model positive behavior, mentor participants, and assist in paperwork and evaluations. You will drive Club vehicles as needed, participate in meetings, implement the 5 Key Elements for Positive Youth Development, and uphold the Boys & Girls Club values of excellence, impact-driven teamwork and good character. The role emphasizes relationship-building, safety, youth engagement, and collaboration with leadership to promote healthy development and inclusive participation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Commitment to working four days a week
- Commitment to make a class schedule for the upcoming semester to meet the scheduling needs of the Boys & Girls Club (if applicable)
- Commitment to working at the Club during the summer
- Must be able to work within the school year operating hours of the Club
- Must be able to work within the summer operating hours of the Club
- Must understand, implement, and demonstrate behavior management principles and other youth treatment modalities, per the Club training and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety
