Job Summary
Provide live translation for families in Nepali, Somali, Spanish and English; translate enrollment materials and walk parents through enrollment forms; create translated video and audio recordings for multilingual family communication; answer calls and direct inquiries; assist families in completing all enrollment paperwork; manage district office communications and documentation using SIS (PowerSchool) and district systems; develop step-by-step digital tutorials and multimedia translations of enrollment procedures; produce multimedia outreach materials and QR codes for translated resources; leverage Windows/Microsoft and Google platforms, Screencastify, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite to support multilingual enrollment processes; work flexible hours and handle on-site translation tasks, document handling (printer/scanner), and data-entry related to student enrollment.
Required Qualifications
- Interest/experience in translation in Nepali, Somali and Spanish in both spoken and written language
- Familiarity of recording translations via audio and video
- Experience with Windows platforms & other Microsoft products as well as the Google platform
- Self-motivated & able to work alone to complete projects
- Ability to communicate clearly & assist families in completing the enrollment process
- Thorough knowledge of native Microsoft software loaded district systems
- Physical capacity to carry and transport equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible hours in emergency crisis mode
- Experience with live translation for families in-person or via phone
- Ability to manage calls and welcome individuals to the district office
- Ability to translate enrollment procedures into accessible multimedia formats
- Produce audio recordings of translated enrollment documents
- Utilize technology tools to support translation and localization of district materials
- Generate QR codes linking to translated videos, audio, and enrollment supports
- Use graphic design platforms to develop flyers and digital materials
- Maintain confidentiality and security of student data
