Job Summary
The Summer Teacher's Assistant role involves direct teaching in functional academics, communication skills, social interaction, and daily living skills among others. The assistant will implement objectives from IEPs and BIPs, support student choices, document educational and behavioral data, and maintain a safe environment. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, demonstrate reliability and teamwork skills, and hold certifications in CPR and SAMA. Experience with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Current SAMA Certification (Provided in training week)
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Reliable Transportation
- Current automobile insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
