Job Summary
Be a Summer Student in an in-person, full-time contract role in Agassiz, BC, delivering a fun, engaging program for children aged 6–12. Responsibilities include leading recreational activities, promoting safety, assisting with meal preparation and program setup/takedown, maintaining health records, administering medication under supervision, reporting accidents/illnesses, following child protection procedures, coordinating field trips and events, and supporting family engagement. Requirements include enrollment in full-time post-secondary studies for 2025-2026 (returning in 2026), First Aid/Babysitting/ Food Safe assets, willingness to obtain Responsible Adult certification, strong communication and teamwork, experience with children, ability to lift children, Indigenous status/eligibility within SASET catchment, willingness to participate in physical activities, and eligibility to work in Canada (SIN, BC Services Card). Pre-employment screening, including criminal record checks, is mandatory; preference may be given to Indigenous applicants. No visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in fulltime Post Secondary School during 2025-2026
- Returning fulltime in September 2026
- First Aid certificate would be an asset
- Babysitting certificate would be an asset
- Food Safe certificate would be an asset
- Responsible adult Certificate is required (or must be willing to obtain)
- Good communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to interact with children
- Must be willing to participate in physical activities
- SIN Number required
- Bank account and BC Services Card required
