Job Summary
Assist the teacher in delivering instruction and implementing Individualized Education Plans for students with disabilities. Provide support throughout the school day, ensuring student safety in various environments. Duties include fostering student independence, collecting data for classroom objectives, and supervising students during vocational training. Must manage physical demands of the job and respond to challenging behaviors calmly and effectively. Crisis intervention training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Prompt, regular attendance
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work independently
- Mobility to assist students with disabilities
- Ability to lift 40-50 pounds occasionally
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with students with severe disabilities
- Applied Behavior Analysis knowledge
