Job Summary
Summer research internship in metamorphic petrology focusing on mobility of metals during melting of continental crust and during fluid:rock interaction; tasks include preparation of samples for whole-rock geochemical analysis, optical microscopy, characterization of thin-sections using SEM/EPMA, collection of trace-element concentrations from mineral phases using LA-ICPMS, construction of simple numerical models of chemical and physical processes, and writing of scientific papers with figures; will join the Metamorphic Petrology research group at Penn State and report to Dr. Andy Smye; background checks per university policy; remote/hybrid work approval not guaranteed.
