Job Summary
Greet guests warmly to create a welcoming first impression and assess their needs through thoughtful questions. Operate point-of-sale systems and Resort Technology Partners (RTP) software to process sales, rentals, reservations, and guest data accurately. Provide knowledgeable recommendations on winter sports equipment and retail items while explaining pricing and package options. Process payments, issue receipts, handle refunds or credits, and maintain accurate cash handling and daily balances. Proactively resolve guest questions or concerns with empathy and urgency to ensure smooth, error-free transactions. Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, professional front desk and workspace. This seasonal full-time role supports the Ski & Snowboard School and Four Mountain Sports rental shops at Aspen Snowmass.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a cashiering, point-of-sale, or financial transaction role
- At least 1 year of experience delivering customer service in a fast-paced retail or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, U.S. currency handling standards, and resort products and services
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS), reservation, and ticketing systems commonly used in retail or resort operations
- Understanding of how accurate, timely transactions and cross-selling opportunities enhance the guest experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel to support operational communication
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to frequency lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
