Job Summary
Summer Barista in Chicago, IL for Crafty’s on-site café program. Seasonal role June–August with 7:00am–3:30pm shifts supporting client cafés and workplace F&B programs. Responsibilities include beverage preparation (espresso, coffee, tea, and specialty beverages), delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining organized café/pantry spaces, inventory management and merchandising, equipment upkeep and routine maintenance, and clear communication of location needs or safety concerns. Requires 1+ year of experience in a third wave cafe, 2+ years with a manual espresso machine, ability to lift 25+ lbs, early-morning availability, and a strong emphasis on reliability, teamwork, and hospitality. Compensation starts at $20/hour in Chicago and includes benefits like healthcare, 401k, PTO, and snacks; final offer based on location and experience.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in a third wave cafe
- 2+ years of experience with a manual espresso machine
- Morning person: shifts can start as early as 6am!
- Full espresso bar execution on a manual machine
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25+ lbs, working on your feet, and frequent bending
