Job Summary
Prepare and track specimens through the measurement pipeline, including labeling, storage, and chain-of-custody documentation. Support metallography workflows involving sectioning, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching, while performing characterization tasks such as optical microscopy, SEM sample prep, hardness testing, and dimensional metrology. Compile structured datasets tying run IDs to measured outputs and assist in analyzing relationships between processing conditions and resulting microstructure or properties. Draft controlled documentation for measurement workflows, maintain lab notebooks, and ensure equipment readiness and safety compliance. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering personnel on directed-energy platforms to produce technical summaries and support AS9100/ISO 9001 readiness.
