Summer/Fall Field Opportunities - Confined Space Entry Technicians (Temporary)

Job Summary
Conduct confined space entry and tank cleaning operations using special tools, pressure washers, and ventilation equipment. Install and remove energy isolation devices, rig in/out support gear, and accurately report conditions within tanks. Assist personnel with PPE donning and doffing, perform emergency rescue roles, and maintain composure during high-stress, multi-tasking challenges. Actively participate in safety meetings, permit reviews, and hazard assessments while completing inspection records and equipment inventories. Work shifts of up to two hours in physically demanding environments requiring the ability to lift 45 kg and work in tight spaces with supplied-air breathing apparatus.
Required Qualifications
- Apprentice Pipefitters
- Apprentice Welders
- Apprentice Boilermakers
- Mechanical / Industrial Trades Apprentices
- Trades students seeking summer field exposure
- Physically able to lift and carry up to 45 kg
- Ability to stand, crouch, kneel and work for extended periods
- Able to follow direction and work as part of a team
- Willing and able to work away from home in Northern Alberta for the entirety of the projects
- Ability to provide own transportation to mobilization site in Nisku
- Willingness to stay in local accommodations when required (if applicable)
- A core requirement of this role is entering confined tanks for cleaning while utilizing a supplied-air breathing apparatus/mask; candidates must be completely comfortable in tight spaces and experienced or highly comfortable working under respirator air

Desired Qualifications
- Previous confined space experience is considered an asset but not mandatory - site safety training and orientation will be provided
- Class 5 Driver's License
- Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection
- Energy Safety Canada Mobile Platforms
- First Aid with AED
- Previous industrial, mechanical or construction experience
