Summer - ESY Behavior Support Assistant (SY 26-27)

Behavior Support Assistant provides behavior support to students with severe behavioral and emotional challenges, works 1:1/1:2 as needed, implements behavior systems, intervenes during crises with de-escalation, monitors and documents behavior, assists classroom teachers and staff, participates in training and collaboration with service providers, and may ride AM/PM bus duties; duties include restraining students when needed, data collection, and developing/implementing behavior plans. The role requires the employee to ride buses, participate in transitions, provide float coverage in emergencies, and contribute to creating a positive learning environment. Education requirements include an Associate’s degree, 48 college credits, or ParaPro test passing score, plus RIDe certification. EEO notice included.
