Job Summary
Summer ECCAT/Aide/Bus Aide roles at Summers County, WV. Responsibilities include assisting the teacher in instructional activities, sharing in protecting students and materials, supervising duties as directed, maintaining positive work habits, upgrading skills, and performing specialized health care procedures under Phase I/II training where applicable. The position also includes bus aide duties with additional compensation, and duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, principal, or county supervisor. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and an Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher credential (or ability to obtain via CDA, ACDS, or E-Learn program). Term runs July 2, 2026 through August 3, 2026; salary listed as State Scale. Locations at Hinton Area Elementary School. This is a temporary, summer aide role suitable for entry-level candidates with an interest in early childhood education and health-care procedures in a school setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must hold Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher credential
- Credential may be obtained by completing: Child Development Associate (CDA) Apprenticeship in Child Development Specialist (ACDS) Certification or E-Learn Early Childhood Classes program
- Must complete and be certified in Phase I training in health care procedures; must complete Phase II training for any specialized health care procedures
