Job Summary
As a Summer Day Camp Unit Leader, you will lead recreational activities for campers, create an outstanding experience for children and families, and serve as a professional role model. Responsibilities include promoting the YMCA, instructing campers with various teaching methods, ensuring the safety and well-being of campers, and maintaining camp facilities. We seek candidates who are passionate about working with diverse youth, possess excellent communication skills, and can establish constructive relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 19 years of age or older by the start of camp
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide a high-quality of instruction using age-appropriate practices
- Ability to establish constructive relationships and interact as a positive role model
- Commitment to working with diverse youth
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in camping, childcare, education, recreation, or sports
Additional Requirements
- Must complete all child abuse prevention training as required
