Job Summary
Summer Day Camp Leader responsibilities include supervising, planning, and instructing day camps for children ages 3-15, providing a safe, fun camp experience, leading campers and volunteers, completing lesson planning and evaluation, plus managing setup, sign-in/out, and risk management. The role covers multiple camp categories (Sport, Preschool, General, and Fine Arts) and requires availability for at least 8 of 10 weeks (July 2–Sept 2, 2026), with full-time hours possible, and in-person or virtual interviews. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; first aid and police check required; NCCP/High 5 and ECE assets are considered advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- 2+ years experience with children in a recreation day camp setting or equivalent
- Alberta Approved First Aid training agency - CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid and must be valid through to September 02, 2026
- Successful applicant must have a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search completed at their own cost
- Relevant certifications (such as NCCP/High 5) considered an asset
- Education, experience and/or certifications in physical literacy and fundamental movement skills considered an asset
