Job Summary
Lead camp operations at The Pittsburgh Golf Club by planning daily schedules, supervising counselors, and managing campers from arrival through pickup. Supervise daily swim time hands-on, establish rules, and review emergency procedures while maintaining a safe environment. Assign tasks to staff, manage performance, and handle issues ranging from camper behavior to parent complaints. Complete daily and weekly administrative tasks, shop for supplies within budget, and check in with the KE Camps Office to update on camp status. Greet families, orient campers, and manage parent expectations through direct conversation. Work full-time Monday through Friday from July 6 through August 14, with CPR/First Aid certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and expertise in the area of program planning
- Ability to lead a team
- Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times
- Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
- Ability to make decisions and adjust plans in real-time
- Prior experience working with children in a leadership position
- Effective communication skills and public speaking ability
- Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
- CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins
- Staff members must be available to work the full camp season
