Job Summary
Summer Day Camp Director responsible for delivering DREAM’s Summer Enrichment program, leading a regional team including AmeriCorps members, coordinating logistics and transportation, supervising and mentoring staff and volunteers, and building partnerships to run high-quality programming for youth in Philadelphia. The role emphasizes safety, literacy, collaboration with staff, volunteers, and community partners, and delivering engaging, inclusive enrichment experiences. Key skills include leadership, team development, program management, logistics coordination, and strong communication and facilitation across diverse stakeholders. Qualifications include 3+ years of people-management experience, familiarity with AmeriCorps grant requirements, proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace, and the ability to work outdoors and travel as needed. The position is full-time, salaried, overtime exempt, averaging 35-45 hours per week, with regular evening and occasional weekend events, plus quarterly multi-day retreats.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing a group of employees, service members and/or volunteers
- Experience supervising and leading a strategic visioning and execution process
- Demonstrated skills in communication and facilitation with and among teams
- Experience supervising and maintaining an organizational property, office, and/or program space
- Familiarity with AmeriCorps grant requirements and mentoring program requirements as expressed by CNCS and state and local regulations
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and set priorities while giving consideration to staff, the organization, and the self
- Creativity, energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit
- A contagious energy for DREAM’s work
- Comfortable working in an outdoor environment in all seasons
Additional Requirements
- This role requires working with children and families in a field environment
- Travel and weekends may be required
