Job Summary
Day Camp Counselor leads a day camp group under the supervision of the Childcare/Program/Branch Director, providing program leadership, following emergency procedures,maintaining discipline, remaining with campers, planning and implementing activities, maintaining camp equipment, and keeping attendance reports. Requires at least 16 years old, ability to work in a Christian environment, adapt to changing needs, and current First Aid/CPR certification; responsibilities include supporting branch events and ensuring camper safety and growth in a collaborative YMCA setting.
Required Qualifications
- Exposure to small structured group
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Interest in children and evidence of emotional maturity, good moral character, judgment, integrity and leadership capability
- Ability to create and work within a Christian environment so that each camper has opportunity for spiritual growth
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR
- Carrying, sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking, running, crouching, lifting (25lbs), and walking
