Job Summary
Part-time Day Camp Counselor responsible for providing program leadership in a day camp group under the supervision of the Childcare/Program/Branch Director. Assist with branch activities and events. Lead specific camper groups, maintain discipline, follow emergency procedures, remain with camper groups at all times, plan and implement open-period activities, maintain camp equipment, and maintain reports and attendance records. Adhere to established camp procedures and guidelines and support the YMCA mission of building a healthy spirit, mind, and body through Christian principles. Requires current First Aid and CPR certification, ability to work in a Christian environment for camper spiritual growth, emotional maturity, and physical ability to perform duties.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR
- Ability to create and work within a Christian environment so that each camper has the opportunity for spiritual growth
- Interest in children and leadership capability
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances
- Exposure to small structured group
- Physical ability to carry, sit, see, hear, speak, run, crouch, lift (25lbs), and walk
