Job Summary
The Summer Day Camp Counselor serves as a professional role model for campers, leading recreational activities that promote life skills, safety, and a positive camper experience. Counselors are responsible for supervising campers, ensuring they are never unsupervised, and fostering an environment of support and encouragement. Key responsibilities include instructing diverse youth in various activities, setting up and maintaining camp facilities, and following established safety standards. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, a passion for working with children, and a commitment to child abuse prevention.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older by the start of camp
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse youth
- Passion for working with children
- Experience in camping, childcare, education, recreation, or sports is a plus but not required
