Summer Day Camp Counselor

Job Summary
Counselors will supervise groups of children, plan and execute daily activities, and ensure compliance with safety procedures. This role requires modeling the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, adherence to Abuse Risk Management policies, and reporting any suspicious behaviors. Applicants must have one year of experience with youth, be 18 or older, and possess strong communication skills. Additional qualifications include the ability to conduct various activities with children and potentially work in the pool.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum one year of experience working with youth in a group setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions that adhere to the YMCA's purpose, mission, and goals
- Must be prepared to conduct various activities with children
Desired Qualifications
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications
- Bilingual ability (English/Spanish)
