Job Summary
Facilitate hands-on science projects, manage behavior, and handle check-in/out procedures for campers aged 1st–6th grade while working alongside Lead Instructors. Assist with outdoor games and maintain a safe, fun environment for up to 20 children at a time. After the first week, build proficiency in camp processes, with some weeks designated as days off or opportunities to assist others. Work 6.5–6.75 hours daily from June through August, with Portland-based staff potentially required for aftercare until 5:30 pm for additional compensation. Commute between locations in Maine and New Hampshire using a dependable vehicle.
Required Qualifications

- Commit to the entire summer schedule
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliability and punctuality
- Good attitude
- Science Course Work (interest in science and learning is crucial!)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children ages 5-12
- Classroom and behavioral management skills
- Organized, independent, and have attention to detail
- Have the ability to work with up to 20 children at a time (with some assistance and a 1:10 student to teacher ratio)
- Experience working with special needs
- College degree or pursuit of higher education
- Classroom and Experiential Teaching experience
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
