Job Summary
Lead counselor for the youngest campers (ages 4-5) at Steve & Kate's Camp, responsible for implementing and managing the structure of the camp day, supervising a team of support staff, and ensuring the basic needs of the children are met. Engage in self-directed programming, foster conversations with staff, campers, and parents, and take ownership of mini-programs. Maintain calm under pressure, support 4-12 year olds in energetic camp activities, and be physically capable of assisting with activity spaces and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds. Role runs 8:00 am–6:00 pm during 6/15/2026–8/14/2026 with in-person supervision at 400 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA, and may include setup/breakdown weekends and field-trip chaperone responsibilities. Includes opportunities to enhance leadership skills, collaborate with diverse colleagues, and contribute to an inclusive, creative camp culture.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum of 2 months experience working with camp–age children, with 1 year preferred
- First Aid & CPR certified prior to Day 1 of Camp
