Job Summary
Lead counselor for Steve & Kate's Summer Camp responsible for implementing and managing the structure of the camp day for the youngest campers (ages 4-5), supervising a team of support staff, and ensuring baseline needs of campers are met. Role requires self-direction, ownership of mini-programs, strong communication with staff, campers, and parents, calmness under pressure, and physical stamina to engage with 4-12 year olds. Requires in-person supervision at the San Jose location, with shifts across 8:00 am–6:00 pm and potential weekend setup/breakdown and an orientation date. Responsibilities emphasize leadership, safety, program delivery, and creating an inclusive, supportive environment for campers. Certifications in First Aid & CPR are required prior to start, and chaperone duties on off-site field trips may be requested.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum of 2 months experience working with camp–age children, with 1 year preferred, in either a professional, personal or volunteer setting
- First Aid & CPR certified prior to Day 1 of Camp
