Job Summary
Staff members will facilitate camp activities, supervise campers, and monitor safety and wellness, with roles including overseeing activity spaces (e.g., sewing, stop-motion animation, maker space, performing arts) or rotating support duties; responsibilities include actively supervising campers, maintaining organized spaces, reporting incidents and injuries, tracking allergies and dietary restrictions, and adding daily updates/photos to campers’ profiles. The role requires calm, collaborative leadership with children aged 4-12, the ability to manage groups, and stamina to keep up with energetic campers; certifications in First Aid and CPR are required before Day 1, and some locations may require additional certifications. The position is located in Chicago, IL, during 6/8/2026–8/7/2026 with 8:00 am–6:00 pm hours (shifts vary) and an hourly wage of $17.25–$19.75; duties include ensuring safety, aligning with camp policies, and supporting setup/breakdown weekends and potential field trips.
Required Qualifications
- At least 16 years of age
- Minimum of 2 months experience working with camp–age children, with 1 year preferred
- First Aid & CPR certified prior to Day 1 of Camp
- Chaperone campers on off-site Field Trips where locations demand
- Physical requirements: stand for long periods; lift up to 40 pounds; participate in athletic games
- Ability to create and supervise activity spaces and supervise campers safely
