Job Summary
Camp Nurse at Woodward PA is responsible for the day-to-day care of illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies for campers, staff, guests, and visiting athletes at a summer camp. The role involves coordinating with the nursing station, athletic trainers, and EMTs to provide comprehensive medical care, maintaining medical records, and ensuring HIPAA standards. The nurse will participate in staff training, oversee medicine administration, serve as a liaison between parents, coaches, program staff, and athletes, and provide on-call overnight coverage on a rotating basis. This position requires ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced camp environment, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to health and safety across the site.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ Years as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- Active Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure / Compact State (Multi-State Licensure)
- Must have 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens
- Must have CPR Certification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, comfortable presenting and deploying new technologies
- Demonstrate broad technical knowledge of management techniques
- Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team.
- Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position and federal background screening via FBI fingerprinting
