Job Summary
Camp Counselor role at Steve & Kate's Camp in Tarrytown involves facilitating a range of activities (e.g., sewing, stop-motion animation, maker space, arts and crafts, performing arts) and supervising campers aged 4–12. Staff will supervise, support, and maintain safe, organized activity spaces, document notable camper concerns or incidents, monitor allergies and dietary restrictions, and contribute to daily camper profiles. Required to be at least 16, have 2+ months experience with children, and hold First Aid & CPR certification before Day 1. The position is in-person, temporary (camp season), and part of a team that collaborates with directors and other staff to deliver a creative, playful, and inclusive camp experience. Expected to comply with health, safety, and camp policies and to assist with setup and breakdown during move-in/move-out weekends; ability to lift up to 40 pounds and to participate in off-site field trips as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least 16 years of age
- Minimum of 2 months experience working with camp-age children (professional, personal, or volunteer setting)
- First Aid & CPR certified prior to Day 1 of Camp
- Ability to work in-person at the camp location in Tarrytown, NY
- Willingness to participate in on-site field trips as required
