Summer Camp 2026: Overseas Volunteer Support Staff

Support Staff are integral to running the camp program, assisting with setup of activities, supporting Activity Leaders and campers, and collaborating with camp managers to ensure activities run smoothly and on schedule. Typical duties include setting up camp activities, chopping firewood for campfires, wiring audio for talent shows, helping campers into kayaks, and leading or assisting with team games. Ideal candidates are positive, adaptable, and able to work as part of a close-knit team; in some cases, Staff may step in as replacement Team Leaders. A driving license for an automatic car in Japan and at least conversational Japanese are preferred. Training is provided, and the overseas volunteer package includes flight reimbursement, volunteer allowance, camp bonuses, transport to Tokyo, and shared accommodation and meals. The program operates in Tsunan, Niigata, Japan, and volunteers come to Japan as visitors on tourist visas; onsite training and camp sessions run from July to August. The role is 100% in-person at the campsite with a strong emphasis on safety and camper well-being.
