Summer Bridge Licensed Teacher (Summer 2026)

Arete Education is seeking a Licensed Teacher for the Summer 2026 program to design and lead engaging and safe learning activities for Arete Education Youth Afterschool and Summer Programs across Academic Interventions, Credit-Bearing Courses, or Enrichment Clubs. Responsibilities include curriculum mapping with backward design and weekly goals, preparing materials in advance, submitting field trip proposals, creating student-facing descriptions of each course/club, confirming logistics with the supervisor, daily attendance and sign-in processes, providing weekly/daily lesson plans, delivering engaging instruction to youth ages 11-19, participating in regular team meetings and trainings, entering progress reports and grades for credit-bearing courses, conducting family outreach to support social-emotional learning and attendance goals, sharing classroom evidence, using Arete HR systems (Applicant Stack, Paycom, Google Apps), and collaborating with staff to uphold professional standards. Required skills include curriculum planning for K-12, strong communication and teamwork, adaptability, and proficiency with Google Education Apps, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and related tools. Education: Licensed Teacher in New York State; background clearance required; 7-hour health and safety trainings; Bachelor’s Degree with Masters’ Degree preferred. This is a grant-funded, on-site role in Bronx, NY.
