Job Summary
Work on real business projects across Locomotive, Transit, Mining & Marine Propulsion systems, applying academic knowledge in design engineering, machine vision, data analytics, or embedded software. Participate in professional, training, and social activities to build a network with peers and senior leaders while exploring potential full-time roles. Complete at least 10 weeks of independent and team-based work at one of several US locations, demonstrating strong initiative, leadership, and technical communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Completed at least one year of college (Rising Sophomore)
- Are enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related technical degree
- If you have and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale after completing full year of college
- Able to work for a minimum of 10 weeks (maximum of 12)
- Willingness to take roles at one of our many Wabtec locations
Desired Qualifications
- Open to applicants legally authorized to work in the U.S., without the need for current or future work status authorization or visa sponsorship for employment
- Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and in teams
- Demonstrated experience in leadership roles
- Strong desire to learn and develop technically in engineering roles to supplement classroom learning
- Ability to communicate technical aptitude, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills
- interests in the areas of design engineering, sustainability, systems, hands on testing, machine vision, data analytics, embedded software, RF communications engineering, systems engineering, enterprise software, or other areas in digital technology
