Job Summary
Coordinate tournament and event operations at The Ripken Experience Aberdeen, including planning, preparation, and execution of programming for All-Ripken Games. Announce youth baseball games, manage scoreboards, play music, and relay messages to the Tournament Director while maintaining facility upkeep and weekly maintenance. Collaborate with staff across departments to uphold brand values and deliver elevated customer service to coaches and parents. Work independently to solve problems in high-pressure situations, requiring flexibility for varying schedules including nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience
- Prior experience working with children, demonstrating patience and compassion
- An outgoing, friendly personality with excellent communication skills, strong initiative, and high level of energy
- Ability and willingness to physically perform all job responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to swiftly and efficiently solve problems, while effectively managing and resolving conflict in high-pressure situations, maintaining composure and professionalism
- Superb time-management skills
- A strong interest in sports and the sports industry, coupled with a drive to continuously improve, ask questions, and expand knowledge within the field
- Ability to work in person in Aberdeen, MD
- Willingness to travel during the summer
- Work schedule will vary, nights and weekends will be required
Desired Qualifications
- Prior customer service and leadership experience
- Previous experience within the sports sector
- Genuine passion for sports, with a particular emphasis on baseball/softball
- Working towards a college degree
- Some level of experience playing baseball/softball with a strong understanding of the game's fundamentals
