Job Summary
Monitor mountain areas for injured, reckless, and lost skiers/snowboarders while enforcing safety regulations and performing trail inspections. Provide first aid and stabilize patients, then transport them to the base area via toboggan or snowmobile. Maintain roped boundaries, conduct weather and traffic reporting, and stand by for emergency dispatch calls. Search for missing persons and equipment as needed. This full-time seasonal role begins in late October with four ten-hour days per week at a starting wage of $20 per hour. Candidates must be all-mountain skiers or riders with EMT, WFR, or OEC certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to ski or snowboard all terrain in all types of conditions
- Medical skills and certifications such as EMT, WFR, or OEC certificate or greater, plus CPR/AED, must be attained in 1st season
- Must be able to withstand harsh winter conditions for long periods of time
- Must be able to work as a team player
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs. or more and be able to ski/ride while carrying cumbersome gear
- Must have a safety-oriented perspective and strong communication skills
